About Carron

Long before They started making sinks they used our expertise to make cannons. That’s right; the heavy artillery kind used by the army and navy and featured in Edinburgh castle for example. In fact the Carron Company could lay claim to a marketing first: it was the first organization worldwide to have its name synonymous with a product as Lord Nelson’s flagship, HMS Victory, was equipped with “Carronades”.

Later Carron turned its expertise to making Britain’s famous red telephone boxes and post boxes. In a first entry into the kitchen industry the Carron brand was associated with top quality cookers before the introduction of stainless steel kitchen sinks in 1962.
